This drink is a fun variation of a martini cocktail and includes both white chocolate and dark chocolate liqueur with some strawberry vodka which makes it the perfect Valentine’s Day drink!
This pretty pink drink gets its beautiful hue from Mozart’s Strawberry White Chocolate Liqueur and a little bit of strawberry extract. The glasses are also rimmed with dark chocolate which create the most festive cocktail that can be served alongside chocolate covered strawberries! It makes the perfect addition to a romantic dinner. If you have been on the search for a unique Valentine’s Day cocktail recipe, then this is the perfect one for you! You will only need a few simple ingredients for this delicious cocktail and just 10 minutes so there’s no better way to celebrate than to make this drink!
Ingredients for Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini
- Strawberry Liqueur: I use Mozart’s Strawberry White Chocolate Liqueur which is the real star of this cocktail. It’s a light and creamy liqueur that tastes of fresh strawberries and vanilla. It makes the perfect base for this drink and also gives it a beautiful pink hue!
- Vodka: To make this a martini, you will need to add some vodka! You can choose flavored or a neutral tasting variety.
- Simple Syrup: I used some simple syrup to give this drink some extra sweetness, but it is optional! Just heat 1 cup water with sugar until boiling then let it simmer on low for 10 minutes until a thick syrup forms. Let it cool before using! You could also do agave, strawberry syrup, or raspberry syrup instead.
- Chocolate Liqueur: I prefer using Mozart’s Dark Chocolate variety because it is made without cream which makes the dark chocolate flavor more intense. It has smokey notes of cocoa beans that I find more enjoyable than a traditional creme de cacao.
- Half and Half: I used a small amount to add some additional creaminess to this drink! You could also do heavy cream but keep in mind, the drink will be thicker if you do!
- Melted chocolate: You can use any melted chocolate you would like but I did dark chocolate to compliment the dark chocolate liqueur.
- Strawberry extract: This is totally optional but I believe adding a little strawberry extract adds a nice depth of flavor and color to this drink!
How to make Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini
- Prep the glasses:
- Melt the chocolate with some oil of choice in the microwave. Do this in 10 second increments and stir until completely melted. Add to a small plate then cover the rim of your glass with a thick layer of chocolate. I used a coupe glass but use whatever cocktail glass you have on hand! You can set the glass in the freezer for a few minutes to harden.
2. Mix the drink ingredients:
- In a cocktail shaker, add your strawberry and dark chocolate liqueur, vodka, simple syrup, strawberry extract, half and half, handful of ice and food coloring (optional).
3. Shake:
- Shake well until everything is combined. Then, pour your drink into your prepared glass, no need to double strain!
4. Serve and enjoy:
- You can add a sliced strawberry on the top of the drink for garnish or add it to the rim of your glass. I added some more dark chocolate shavings on top of the drink for the finished look. Enjoy!
